Hot Rod and Kustom Fall Out IV

After a couple of late date changes due to bad weather, Hot Rod and Kustom Fall Out IV was held on Sunday. Glorious Fall sunshine, a really good setting, good live music and plenty of top-notch cars all combined to make this a superb end-of-season event.

The event is billed as being all about true-blue hot rodding and the preservation of its roots. There was no billet-machined aluminium or exotic metals, no modern hi-tech rods and definitely no trailer queens! The show certainly lived up its advertising with some great examples of 'old-school' hot rodding in attendance.

Mustang Magic

Dave and I spent a perfect fall afternoon – his first in the USA – at the LMMC-CT Car Show held at Hoffman Ford of East Hartford.

Crisp weather and a bounty of Mustangs was the order of the day. We got up close and personal with a Mustang Shelby GT 500 KR (picture 1) – truly a King of the Road. We also had the pleasure of meeting the http://www.newyorkmustangs.com/ contingent (pics 2 and 3). A late 60s blue GT350 fastback drew a lot of looks, as did a red 2004 Supercharged Mach 1.

The cars were works of art under the hood as well (picture 4), and a variety of license plates caught our eye - WILDGT, WLDPNY, GTPONY, PONYGT, XRATED, WHOA06, QWIKHUH, PRPLMACH and HANGON.

While this was a Mustang Show, a 1946 mint-condition Lincoln was a show stealer. The Lincoln’s owner showed us the hydraulic windows, push button doors and vacuum windshield wipers, before starting the smooth V-12.
