Downtown New Britain Car Show, October 1st, 2010

After leaving the Leather and Sound photoshoot, we made a last-minute decision to call in at the Downtown New Britain car show. It was well after 2pm when we arrived, so we knew that many of the cars would’ve already departed.

We parked the car and walked toward Main Street. As soon as we got there we bumped into Sergio Ortiz, the president of New Britain’s Hard Hittn’ Lowz car club. Sergio had his superb Impala lowrider on show and, even that late in the day, it was still drawing admiring looks from spectators. He introduced Kathy and me to his son Sergio Jr, before introducing us to Flip, Jay, Robert and the rest of the crew from the Street Dreamz Connecticut Riders motorcycle club.

I set up an impromptu shoot with the guys gathered around a fabulous Suzuki Hayabusa and then took a couple of father-and-son shots of the Sergios. While we were taking a few shots we ran into our old friend Art, who had his beautiful ’34 Ford Coupe on display.

The show's conclusion brought Sergio the best-of-show award. Congratulations, it was well deserved. It was good to see our friend and Cruisin' Photography Facebook fan again.
